ANTIQUE BOX- 18TH TO 19TH CENTURY - FRENCH FAIENCE - BIRDS KISSING & PINK HEARTS

Description

This antique box is an irregularly shaped chest, decorated with two birds, on pink hearts, kissing.  Vines of pink roses, leaves and rope circles/love knots, and "Take this for a Kiss" in black writing, border the piece.  The top and yellow base look like enamel, but the inside appears to be pottery, so I am guessing that it is French faience.  An ornate seashell with scrolls is the clasp.  The condition, considering its' age, is excellent.  There aren't any cracks or chips, but there is pitting, in the form of pin pricks or dotted indentations, on the top and bottom.  Please check the pictures.  It is 1.25
