Up for auction is a wonderful George III West Indian satinwood tea caddy, crossbanded in East Indian satinwood, the hinged lid with a pierced cast gilt bronze carrying handle enclosing a foil lined interior, the reverse of the lid has been lined with paper.
The front of the caddy has an ornate pierced gilt bronze swag and rib and tied escutcheon. Veneer is in really nice shape with a bit of cracking on the back see none missing.
We have no key.
Caddy measures 7” long, 4.5” high and 4.25” wide.
