Antique Victorian Traveling Lap Desk Oak w Brass Fittings and Glass Inks

Description

This Traveling desk is about 12 ¾” by 10 ¼ by 3 ½” high. It opens to reveal a tapered writing surface with small compartments and two Glass Inks with Silver Plate tops. Made of solid quartered Oak, grooved to look like small stripes, it has brass dome tacks and an ornate escution with a center plate that has not yet been engraved. In good antique condition with expected flaws; there is a warp to the drop lid (photo) and small marks on the original finish. One glass ink is an old replacement with a loose top.
