    Description

Native American apache waterbasket .measures 10 1/2 inches tall by 8 inches across and in great shape a apache weaver gave me all kinds of info im fixing to chase down he said the apache call these tuss..ok here we go.Devils claw weft on the edge is kewl.
Nice Apache "tuss" (Apache word for water jugg), twined with a very large mouth.  Nice form.  Often Apache jugs have kewl wooden handles.  May or may not be tribal or geographical in origin.  However i know ive never seen a pah oats with wooden handles in the Great Basin...yet
In the Great Basin often use of 3 strand twine is seen here at the start.  This doesnt have it so im assuming its tribal.  No reason as I as a eastern weaver rarely ever uses 3 strand at the bottom simply because it created more work.  Often use of 3 strand strengthens or add support to areas where it can help give form.
Notice the use of 3 strand twine at the neck and the body.  Just adds visual texture....so hey thanks for peeking i remove reset to score more serious buyers as i notice others watching taking my well researched info but thats ok too as im a teacher.
But ..im looking for serious buyers here.
