Dark red, wood box, etched & painted Japanese motif 7.5X3.5X2.75 inches

Description

This vintage, decorative wood box is in very good condition, with light faded area on one end (see pictures).
The sticker on the bottom indicates it was sold by John H. Kazanjian and Company.
This company was founded in 1882 and initially sold oriental rugs.
Soon they were handling a variety of household goods including portieres, embroideries, antiques, bric-a-brac and curios.
The company, located in Newport RI, remained in operation into the 1960s.
I have been unable to find an exact closing date, but assume the box is over 50 years old.
The label also provides an article number, 7428.
