EARLY 20TH C VINT C. D. BOSS & SONS CHOICE & FANCY BISCUIT BOX, W/PAPER LABEL

$ 77.88

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Return shipping will be paid by: Buyer
  • Type: Vintage wooden box crates
  • Condition: Fair to Good overall vint cond. The front paper label has almost entirely been worn off the face of the box. It's unfortunate but it was how the box was found & in the same cond as when we acquired it. Although the box itself is stained from exposure to moisture & repeated handling, the inside paper label is largely still whole & fully intact, w/only some loss to its corners & edges. It's the back int paper label on the lid, which aside from some slight buckling caused by moisture & small episodes of paper loss from a tear coming in from the margin, is still in quite nicely preserved overall vint cond. We've elected to leave the box alone & to offer it as we found it & w/the remnants of the front short sidewall box paper label as it is. It could be removed from the front w/steam & a razor but this wouldn't have been in keeping w/its vint pedigree & character. It's made of all wood, w/a plank floor & has nailed corners. A really wonderful C. D. Boss & Son early 20th century biscuit box.

    The front paper label has almost entirely been worn off the face of the box. It's unfortunate but it was how the box was found  and remains in the same condition as when we acquired it. The good news is that although it's stained from exposure to moisture  and shows evidence of repeated handling, the wonderful inside paper label is largely still whole and fully intact, with some loss to its corners and edges. It's the back interior paper label on the lid, which aside from some buckling caused by moisture and small episodes of paper loss from a tear coming in from the margin, is still in quite nicely preserved overall vintage condition. We've elected to leave the box alone and to offer it as we found it and with the remnants of the front short sidewall box paper label as it now is. What's left of the front paper label could be removed with steam and a razor but this wouldn't have been in keeping with its vintage pedigree and character.
