Hampshire Pottery VASE~Matte Green Glaze~7”~Rare Teco Buttress ShapeFor your consideration is a very collectible HAMPSHIRE POTTERY VASE.
The glaze is one of their trademark glazes in a smooth matte green!
A lovely arts and crafts piece to add to your collection!
These pieces were made in Keene New Hampshire. On the bottom it is marked HAMPSHIRE along with the M in a circle.
The "M" in a circle mark was used to honor Cadmon Robertson's wife "Emoretta". She was the sister of the founder, James Scollay Taft. Cadmon Robertson was the head chemist for the glazes and ran Hampshire Pottery from 1904-1914. This mark was used during that time period according to the research.
The vase measures
7” tall,
4 ½” diameter around the rim with the width at the widest part of approximately 5 ¾”.
Condition:
This piece has been in the family for decades. I am not an expert on describing pottery or glazes, so I have provided a number of photos for you to review. No chips, cracks or repairs noted. Overall appears in very good condition for its age.
