    Description

    This Native American basket is in excellent used condition. There is a pedestal on the bottom of the basket, and a lid attached with string loose enough to allow the lid to be adjusted as shown in the seventh picture. According to Dr. Lori Verderame, this piece is likely from an Alaskan tribe, possibly the Haida or Tsimshian, and is a modern reproduction of one of their traditional basket styles. This style of basket may have been used as a sieve.
