    Description

    Two vintage items from the United Seamen's Service Inc., for American Merchant Seamen. The first is a single-sided broadside for the Bristol Club, Bristol UK. This club is operated exclusively for the American Seamen. No date provided but reference to the War Shipping Administration (so probably during the WWII era). The services this club provided includes beer, American meals, barber, V. Mail and Air Mail, cables and telegrams, exchanging money, sending money home, locating relatives in the UK, places of interest to visit, movies, and places to dance. Opened daily. This sheet measures 5.00" x 8.00". The second item is a three-panel brochure for the United Seamen's Service in Bremerhaven, Germany. This brochure is copyrighted 1946. One side provides information on clubs and facilities on the European Continent and in the UK. Motion Pictures and theatres, places of entertainment. On the flip side is a map of Bremerhaven. Measures 4.50" x 8.25" when closed and 13.00" x 8.25" when opened.
