    Description

    US Army, WWI, Field Artillery Snaffle Bit. US and maker marked (BTC = Bridgeport Tool Co.)  These bits were used with the teams of horses that pulled gun carriages.  In use from 1911 through WWI-era and beyond until the Field Artillery was mechanized in the 1930's

    Nice original bit, heavy pitting in many places, some even gray finish in others.  US and BTC still legible.
