To my bidders: For years I have done business on eBay using the name: gpstorageco*. The items I will be selling from this point on are being sold from my estate and from the estates of friends and relatives.
This Pre-WWI US M1907 Leather Sling belonged to a friend of mine who recently passed away. He set aside quality vintage military items over the years. This was one of the items in his field gear collection and was mounted on a very early 1903 RIA rifle.
This Pre-WWI US M1907 leather sling is as found in my friends estate lot. It is clean/solid overall and shows light/average use (see photos). There are no elongated holes or other problems/issues with the leather (see photos). It remains very supple and has all brass fittings as found on pre-WWII US slings (see photos). Both sewn leather keepers remain present/intact to the sling (see photos). It is maker marked BT & B Co. twice (once to the short piece and once to the longer piece - see photos). The shorter end is dated 1912 and the longer end 1910 (see photos). Both ends could be paired with matching leather to make two dated slings but this is how I found it on the rifle.
Really a solid/serviceable Pre-WWI US M1907 leather sling with all brass hardware. Great opportunity for the US field gear collector to use or display on the appropriate rifle. This sling would be a terrific addition to a correspondingly dated '03 rifle. Great opportunity for the advanced US rifle collector.
