    Description

Selling a Vintage 1993 Intel 80286 CPU Employee Clock / Paperweight 15 Year Award.
Estate / Auction find.  Please note - I am not the original owner.
The inside of the lid is inscribed with a name and date.
    Jostens is stamped on it.
Aside from some information I found (see below), I could find no others like it.
    According to chipsetc.com:
"This Intel employee presentation clock has a rare Intel 286 processor chip die mounted on the lid cover as well as a graphic image of an Intel fab worker inspecting a wafer.
The Intel 80286 16-bit CPU was introduced in 1982 and was produced up until the early 1990's at speeds of 4 MHz up to 25 MHz. The 80286 contained 134,000 transistors and was manufactured using Intel's 1.5 µm HMOS process. It was primarily designed for use in IBM PC/AT compatible computers.  This presentation clock was awarded to an Intel employee in celebration of their 15 years of service with the company, it is inscribed with the name of the Intel employee on the back side of the lid.
Clock measures 2-1/2 inches across and is a combination of polished steel and brass and is quite heavy."
Has some nicks, discoloration, spots, etc. from age, storage and handling.  It looks like a piece of wire solder(?) is used to keep the back in place and a paperclip used as a tool to remove it.
I put in a battery to test and it appeared to work.  Battery is included but it is past it's "best by" year by about 18 years so I'm not sure how long it will last.
